Sources

Every article draws from primary sources (manufacturer catalogs, cemetery regulations, industry pricing surveys) and secondary sources (grief literature, memorial conventions cited from published books). We do not cite anonymous forum posts, Reddit threads, or unverified social-media claims without explicit attribution. When a pricing figure appears on this site, it was sourced from a manufacturer's published price list or a direct quote received within the month of research. If a source is no longer accessible, we note the date it was verified.

Fact-checking

Every page goes through a two-pass review: writer to editor. Pricing data is cross-referenced against at least two sources where available. Material specifications (bronze alloy grades, granite finish names, wood species) are verified against manufacturer documentation or industry standards. No page is published without a second reader having reviewed the claims made in it. If a reader submits a correction, the editorial team re-checks the original source and either amends the page or responds explaining the finding.

Update cadence

Pages are reviewed for accuracy every 12 months at minimum. High-traffic pages — those with a search volume of 500 or more per month — are reviewed every 6 months. The "last updated" date visible at the bottom of every page reflects the most recent substantive revision, not a cosmetic edit. If a page has not been reviewed within its window, it carries a note indicating the review is overdue.

Corrections

Corrections are submitted via the contact page. When a correction is verified, we publish it within 5 business days. A dated correction note is appended to the affected section, and the "last updated" date on the page is refreshed. We do not silently overwrite errors — the correction is visible so readers can see what changed and when.

Memorial Plaque Ideas does not currently earn affiliate commissions. None of the links on this site generate revenue for the editorial team. In the future, if links to external retailers are added, they will be clearly marked as affiliate links, and a disclosure notice will appear on every affected page before the first affiliate link. This policy will be updated at that time.
